The Center for Independent Living in Central Florida, Inc. (CIL) is a non-profit agency dedicated to helping people with disabilities achieve their goals of independence. CIL was founded in Orlando, Florida in 1976 by a coalition of people with disabilities and their advocates. Since it’s incorporation in 1979, the agency has enhanced and enriched the lives of thousands of people with disabilities by providing training on independent living techniques and by advocating for the removal of architectural, communication, and attitudinal barriers within the community. Over 50% of the staff and Board of Directors have a disability. CIL is a registered 501(c) (3). Our Winter Park office serves Orange, Seminole and Osceola counties and our Lakeland, Florida office serves Polk, Hardee, Highlands, and DeSoto counties
